We suggest that you enter Louze into your satnav and once you arrive in Louze reset it for Rue de la Planchotte. We find that Rue du Moulin on a satnav can take you into a different village. Do not enter map co-ordinates as this will take you to a track in the forest on the other side of our lake and from which there is no access to our lake.

From Calais, take the A26/E15 to Reims. This road will be signposted A26/E17 further along. There is a Toll Plaza (Peage) about 20 miles from Calais where you collect a ticket. You pay for this ticket about 10 miles outside of Reims (currently €22.80).

At Reims, a new ring road has been opened linking the A26 with the A4. Continue on the A26 and collect a ticket at the New Toll Plaza. Follow the signs for Strasbourg and the new road re-joins the existing A4 to the East of Reims.

Rejoin the A26/E17 bearing right towards Troyes. Turn off towards Vitry Le Francois onto the N44. The toll booth for payment is just as you leave the motorway.

At Vitry Le Francois, take the N4 towards St Dizier. Stay on N4 until you see junction turn off for St Dizier, Troyes and Lac du Der (Note: this is not the first turn off you see for St Dizier). Turn right at next roundabout in direction of St Dizier, Lac du Der and Eclaron. At next roundabout, go straight across and join D384 towards Eclaron and Montier en Der.
